Susan Hampstead started Hampstead Publishing Inc., in 2004 when her passion for literature collided with  untapped talent. As Senior Editor of Don Diva Magazine, Hampstead decided to shed light on the numerous manuscripts that were presented to her from the hood and penal system

“Most of these prisoners were accepted by major publishing companies until it was revealed that they were incarcerated” explains Hampstead. She decided that it was time to get these writers into the mainstream regardless of their circumstances.

Hampstead complied a team of creative minds, Shae’ James, Jessica Silver and Richard Holland that shared her passion for literature. Their cooperative efforts have made Hampstead Publishing a reality and established them as the publishing company for “Official Street Chronicles”.

Street Team is the first of Joe Black's four novels that will be dropped under Hampstead Publishing. Based in the Bronx, during the crack epidemic of the late 1980’s, STREET TEAM, is a tale of four young hustlers trying to ‘come up’.
